For some reason I was really dreading this day. I mean, 30. Three whole decades.
I guess in the back of my mind (and probably the back of many of our minds when we think of it), is that our boobs will automatically be at our knees, our hair will start turning grey, and that our skin will start to wrinkle (scratch that last one, it's already started).
Thirty just sounds old when you say it; but then I came across these while surfing the inter-webs.
30 is not old at all; I am just beginning to really take a hold of the sails for many aspects of my life even though I have established other parts of it.
If I look back at all I accomplished in my 30 years, I have a pretty long list.
I have a college diploma, as well as a post-grad certificate, I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful 3 year-old boy, I own a home, have a good job, and I am working towards my dream job part-time with the hopes of making it full time really soon.
And not to mention, I get to celebrate my birthday with Canada each and every year :)
This year, my husband planned a surprise birthday dinner the Friday before my birthday, and then we went away for the long weekend up to our cottage at Sauble Beach. We had an amazing family weekend.
I actually don't think life could be any better for me and I should really care less about getting older. I should just continue to enjoy life and continue on my wonderful journey. Turning 30 is really no big deal; it's just another day. So my advice if you're worried about it:
It's no secret that kids, particularly toddlers, say some of the funniest things; and my three year old is no exception. I actually have a note book titled "My Quotable Kid" where I have been recording some of his funniest moments and I thought it would be a good idea to share a few.
Please see back, relax and prepare to laugh at loud. Enjoy!

Eric: Bottle of water?
Daddy: How about milk?
Eric: How about no.
2. September 2012 - 2 years old
Eric likes cucumber so much that when I was checking out at the grocery store, he actually broke a cucumber in half and started eating it! As we were walking to the car, my sister asked if he was hungry and he replied, "I'm starving Auntie!".

As we were driving home from daycare;
Mommy: Eric, look at all of those Christmas lights.
Eric: Wow, holy crap!
Mommy & Daddy (while trying not to laugh hysterically): Eric, please don't say those words.
Eric: Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap.
Daddy (while we're still trying not to laugh hysterically): Eric, please say it's pretty instead.
Eric: Holy crap, it's pretty.

After putting Eric's cars into a bin;
Eric: Lisa don't put my cars into a bin.
Mommy: Eric my name is mommy, call me mommy.
Eric: Daddy calls you Lisa.
Mommy: Yes, because Lisa is my name but you call me mommy.

After giving Eric a new teddy bear I asked him what his name was and he said, "I don't know, I don't see a name tag".
I don't know about you, but I am a big fan of watching funny cat video's on YouTube. Actually I bet a lot of people can endlessly spends hours watching video's like that (although I won't admit it at this point).
Well, this brings me to the point of this post. I had friends over this weekend and they showed me this hilarious video that I just had to share. I literally laughed the whole way through, although it's probably not really as funny as I think it is!
*I love how the cat is wearing a shark costume.
*I wonder why the cat is in a shark costume.
*I love that he just sits there the whole time. *I wonder why they have a duck.
*I wonder why the dog is in a costume.
*Near the end of this video the dog looks like it's the saddest day of his life. Complete humiliation.
I'm sure everyone who has a cat thinks that their cat is some form of crazy, and mine is no exception. I've recently start going to university part-time (on top of my full-time job and my two-year old; yikes!), and when I have the opportunity to work on school work, I will take it. This past Sunday was that day as my husband Doug took our son to two birthday parties. I was sad I couldn't attend, but I really needed to do some school work. Because I procrastinate. A lot.
Well, since our basement renovations are in the last stages (including my new office!), I have to work at our dining room table in the meantime.
Now I love my cat Inca (pronounced Ink-a), not because he's black and was born on Halloween, but because he loves to cuddle and sleeps right next to me. However, he sure does love to get in the way sometimes. Case in point:
Why aren't you paying attention to me?
Within minutes he was asleep on my text book and I always feel bad for moving him because he looks so cute. Can I blame my procrastination on my cat?
Hey, at least I'm not saying the dog ate my homework!
